Job Title: Application developer
Objective of role:
Develop and maintain application code
primarily written in C++ but also in other languages you may have experience
with
List of Duties include but are not
limited to:
Application development and support
using C++ and Delphi, C#, VBS, SQL
Development of applications written by
and/or supported by Prophet
Gathering information by talking to
customers, project managers and other staff to form a specification of a
modification given a brief of the requirement
Interact with customer for fault
resolution and training on new and modified systems
Being on 24/7 call on the rota
(typically 4-6 times per year for one week at a time).
Help to train other staff in house and
bring junior programmers up to speed and being available to assist other
programmers in areas that they are less familiar
Site visits will be required
Any other related tasks as required by
the line manager
Job Specifications, Standards and
Requirements:
Essential skills are: C++, SQL
Desirable: ability to work in a team
and also alone on specific project. Good
customer facing manor. C, VBS, Delphi
(object pascal), XSL, C#, XML, Crystal reports, SQL

job
All necessary
equipment (Microsoft, PC based software) will be provided but the position
requires that the applicant has access to a PC/broadband connection at their
home for call out duties where necessary
Up to 25k pa based on experience and
skills
20 days pa holidays + statutory +
additional days based on service
